German connectivity solutions major expands its India footprint with the upcoming manufacturing facility
Bhopal, March 25, 2011: Lapp Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of high flexibility cables, cable accessories and industrial connectors, based out of Germany, today announced the investment of Rs.150 Cr in Bhopal. The investment will be towards the development of a manufacturing unit in Pilukedi, Rajgrah District. Spread over 30 acres, the facility will be second in India besides another one in Bangalore where its corporate headquarters Lapp India Pvt. Ltd. are located. It will be home to three building units with an individual manufacturing apparatus in each. In the first phase, this facility will employ around 100 people and when the facility will be fully functional it will have approximately 400 number of people.
The company performed bhoomi pooja at the site today in the presence of global leadership of the company. Shri Ajay Choubey, Executive Director, Madhya Pradesh Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation Ltd. and Shri J N Vyas, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh, Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam Ltd. were also present at the occasion thereby promoting industrial development and the resultant economic progress of Bhopal.
Sharing his insights on India being the focal point of Lapp Group activities, Mr. Siegbert E. Lapp, Director of LAPP HOLDING AG said that, “India’s thriving economy is showing a promising outlook and I believe, it is the ‘Future Market’ of the connectivity solutions industry. With the estimated market size of approximately 3 billion Euros, we have a lot to do for the market.” He additionally highlighted that the level of awareness among the people to use quality products has recorded a paradigm-shift. In light of this changed purchased pattern he opines that, “Now the quality conscious buyer overrides a quantity conscious one, hence standardized products will witness an upswing in demand, making it essential for us to build-up and meet their requirement.”
Analysing the viability of this investment Mr. Frank Imkamp, CEO & President Asia-Pacific at LAPP GROUP stated, “We have witnessed 30% year-on-year growth in India and it is one of our focused markets. The investment that we are making in the new facility will help us cater to the growing customer demands and our revenue is expected to rise 4 fold in the next four years.” He further added that we will be developing 6 warehouses and distribution centres, 16 service points for customising the products for customer needs as value-additions.
To give back to the environment, over 1/4th of the site space will be conserved as green space to grow trees. As hygiene factors other environment friendly initiatives such as rainwater harvesting, ground water recharge, deploy of solar power will be dutifully followed by the company.
Setting-up a plant in Bhopal was a conscious decision made by the company explained the Managing Director of LAPP INDIA Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Srinivas P Kamisetty. He added that, “Geographically 70% of our business comes from West and South India, and Bhopal being located in the heart of India is well equipped to meet the logistical requirements of the regions while servicing potential demand from other parts of the nation as well.” Further detailing other strategic advantages that the region presents, he added that, “Bhopal is powerhouse of resources including talent and the uninterrupted power supply. The MP Government has been very supportive making it one of the attractive destinations for a company like ours.”
In sync with the core philosophy, the organization will be hiring talent locally from diploma holders in electrical and mechanical engineering to unskilled labourers for manning the machinery and equipments. A requirement of managerial profiles will also arise as and when the facility gets operational.
The Bhopal facility will be the first manufacturing plant of LAPP INDIA Pvt. Ltd. outside Bangalore and will be the largest manufacturing unit of LAPP GROUP in the next 5 years.

Rani, a girl from a small town in mid India called Jakhlaun set a new Guinness World Record for Heaviest Vehicle Pulled by Hair by pulling a truck weighing 8829 kgs for a distance of 5 meters.
Guinness World Record must have witnessed a lot of strong men pulling and vehicle pulling records but this one was a unique pulling record where the whole village was not only present to see the record but were a part of it. They helped a truck weighing 6500 kgs to become 8829 kgs so that Rani could pull more weight than anyone else in the world as in the men’s category the record for heaviest vehicle pulled by hair is 8280 kgs.
Shabbir takes Liz in a truck to Jakhlaun village. As soon as they get down they see a big group of villagers waiting to welcome them there. The villagers helped Shabbir and Liz to find out who was the person who would pull the truck they had come on. Once the villagers introduced Rani, she surprised Liz and Shabbir by telling them that she would pull the truck with her hair. There was a problem though, the truck they came to the village on weighed 6500 kgs and Rani wanted to pull a vehicle weighing more than 8280 kgs. To resolve this problem a big group of Jakhlaun villagers boarded the truck and increased its weight to 8829 kgs. It was almost an unbelievable attempt and looked even more difficult when Rani struggled to pull the vehicle for even a meter. We could see a concerned Shabbir and worried Rani’s family when Rani suddenly showed determination and started to pull the truck. As she was pulling the rope tied to her hair slipped off.
Shabbir and Rani’s family rushed to her to help her. Everyone was really disappointed and thought the attempt was over. To everyone’s surprise Rani was again ready for another attempt and without wasting time pulled the 8829 kgs truck across the finish line 5 meters away.
Liz later announced that Rani set a new Guinness World Record, following all rules and pulled a heavy 8829 kgs vehicle for a distance of 5 meters with her hair.

इतिहास को दोहराते हुए, दिया अपनी माँ सिया के कदमों पर कदम रखकर आगे जा रही है। अम्माजी के शांत और आज्ञाधारक स्वभाव की पोती में आखिर धैर्य आया है। अम्माजी के परिवार के झूठी और खोखली इज्जत के खिलाफ सत्य का पक्ष लेने के लिए उसके पास धैर्य है। उसके भाई राजवीर ने किये खून की गवाही कोर्ट में देने की मानसिक तैयारी दिया ने की है, लेकिन अम्माजी उसकी ये मनीषा पूरी ना हो इसलिए पूरी कोशिश कर रही है। उसका मन बदलने से लेकर उसे किडनॅप करने के लिए गुंडों को भेजने तक सबकुछ वो कर रही है। अर्थात, ये सब करते हुए वो अपनी पोती है ये वो भूल गयी है। भूतकाल में भी यही हुआ था। अपना बेटा राघव और बहू सिया के खिलाफ जाकर अम्माजी उनके जुड़वा बच्चों को उनसे दूर करने चली थी। ये कथा वीरपूर से दिल्ली पहुँची और अब काफी समय भी बीत चुका है, फिर भी अम्माजी आज भी यह मानती है कि पुरूषों के सामने स्त्री का कोई महत्त्व नहीं। लेकिन अम्माजी के परिवार के नसीब में तो कुछ और ही लिखा है। घर की एकमात्र बेटी अब धीरे-धीरे अम्माजी के पल्लू से बाहर निकलकर सच्चाई के लिए लडऩे का साहस दिखा रही है। उसमें उसकी माँ सिया का रूप नजर आ रहा है।

Bhopal: The Narmada Bachao Andolan activists, opposing the much needed Maheshwar Hydrill Power Project in Maheshwar, have intensified their anti-project activities and are trying to misguide the Central Government by distorting and manipulating false information. In a letter written to the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, the activists have claimed that dam construction works are on completion while R&R is still hardly 10 percent. The activists also alleged that the state government and the project officials are trying to complete the project while ignoring commitments towards oustees. The facts are totally wrong and misleading as most of the rehabilitation work is complete. The oustees are already constructing their brick houses on the new site. Residential plots to oustees have already been allotted through a transparent lottery system in February 2010. All basic amenities of top class are already existing on the rehabilitation site and many oustees families are already living there.
Few residents supporting NBA activists and were opposing rehabilitation at Mulgaon village. A village under submergence, have also joined hands in the process of development and are overwhelmingly supporting land acquisition. A few people have been left out of the survey as they earlier opposed rehabilitation under wrongful influence of NBA. These residents are now trying and approaching for rehabilitation.
NBA is trying to create confusion by divulging in mongering distorted picture of R&R works being carried out.
Although chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been pressing for completion of the project at the earliest, he still insists that due care must be taken of proper rehabilitation of the project oustees. The project officials have also ensured that best possible facilities of modern living are made available to those families under rehabilitation plan. A meeting of senior officials of the Ministry of Forest and Environment is scheduled in near future in order to scrap restrictions earlier imposed on part constructions. As the project is fast moving towards completion, the decision would go a long way to speed things further. NBA activists are trying to sabotage the project for their vested interests.
It needs mention here that a total of 22 villages are coming under submergence under the Maheshwar HEP. Out of these 13 villages are coming under total submergence while the remaining 9 villages will face partial submergence. Rehabilitation has been planned for 18 villages. There is no need for rehabilitation in 2 villages while residents of the remaining 2 villages have opted for cash compensation.
Development works are almost complete in 10 villages. Residential plots have been allotted in 8 rehabilitation sites while in two villages, the process of allotment is underway. In 6 villages work would start on availability of land required for R&R.
